Help the Mesachie Group Fire Fighters
On Friday, June 16th to Sunday, June 18th, 2006, the Mesachie Group will be participating in its
27th Annual Muscular Dystrophy Ball Tournament/Auction fundraising event. For the past 26 years, these local fire fighters have organized a recreational ball weekend in order to raise money to help fight the battle against muscular dystrophy. To date, the Mesachie Group has raised over half a million dollars in donations from this event.
The fire departments involved have been Mesachie Lake, Honeymoon Bay, Caycuse, Lake Cowichan, Youbou, Duncan, Cowichan Bay, Crofton, and Langford, as well as their families, friends, and supporters of this cause.
Raising awareness as we walk 46 km!
This year to kick off the Mesachie Group weekend, members from these fire departments will walk 46 km in full turn-out gear and Scott pack (no air mask).
The walk will take place on Thursday, June 15 in relay format, starting from the Cowichan Bay Fire Department to the ball field at Mesachie Lake, where the weekend event will be held. Our hope is to bring public awareness to what this group has achieved over the past 26 years and to ask for your support as we continue to help fight this disorder.
We are asking for any type of donation that you can find in your hearts to give. We are offering a 2006 edition tournament T-shirt and ball cap as a gift for any pledge given over $100. Please remember that this is a tax deductible donation!
Thank you for your continued support,
The Mesachie Group
