Cowichan Bay Fire Rescue and our team of dedicated firefighters respond to more than 220 calls a year in a protection region that covers over 170 square km’s. As set out in the Cowichan Bay Improvement District Bylaw #109-22 – Fire Department Establishment Bylaw Cowichan Bay Fire Rescue responds to several different types of incidents. The fire department responds to all types of emergency incidents in both our community and surrounding areas when called upon. Our members are NFPA trained and certified and share a passion and commitment to help our citizens in their time of need.
Cowichan Bay Fire Rescue is more than just fire suppression. Our firefighters respond to a variety of emergencies including Motor Vehicle Incidents (MVI’s) and patient extrication, low slope rescue and any other emergency the public needs assistance with.
